From the time of our founding in early 2020, EastHUB has sought and received actionable advice and feedback from our community on the needs to be addressed and voids to be filled in the pursuit of our mission to make Bellevue and the entire Eastside a unique regional destination for arts and culture. Our goal has always been to ask our community what it wants, and bring all sectors together to realize this shared vision, rather than tell our community what they are getting.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the CloudVUE mixed-use Development project, EastHUB is now less than one year away from breaking ground on a flexible use live performance venue (the Playhouse) to be located in the heart of downtown Bellevue, on 110th Street, directly across the street from the Bravern Shopping Center, the Meydenbauer Convention Center, and directly adjacent to the new Amazon 600 Headquarters (with direct access to the new downtown light rail station). We are about to begin the Schematic Design process for the building with our architects, and before we do, we need to hear from YOU – the potential future users of the facility, on what you are looking for in terms of the design, capacity, and configurations of the space.
Our next listening session is on Thursday, April 28 from 3.30-5.00 p.m., via Zoom. We will discuss this new space and get your input on what features and capabilities you are looking for in your potential future performance home in Bellevue. At this meeting, EastHUB staff will present a deep dive into the conceptual design work that his done to date, and the projected operations model for the facility once it is open. This meeting is open for all Arts and Cultural Organizations on the Eastside and Greater Seattle Area who see themselves as potential users of the CloudVUE Playhouse.
