March 31, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

The March 2022 edition of the Culture Creates Community event will explore how art in its different expressions can help with the healing journey of violence survivors and trauma.

PRESENTERS:
Amy Erickson – Director of “Visceral: Transforming Trauma Through Theater”

Tasveer.org – Stimulating Thinking Through Films, Arts and Storytelling

EastHUB has the pleasure of presenting Tasveer, an organization that works ‘to inspire social change through thought-provoking South Asian films, art, and storytelling, and the director of Visceral: transforming trauma through theatre,” Amy L. Erickson. Amy will lead a discussion of the main themes presented in her documentary film, “Visceral” which centers on the acronym CREATE: connection, regulation, engagement, awareness of triggers, transformation, safely-embodied, and embracing life.

There will be a special offer to access Amy’s documentary for those who register for the event. More information about the offer will be sent in the registration confirmation email.

Please join us for this virtual discussion presented by these two passionate and committed presenters as they talk about how theater, films, and storytelling help people alleviate the consequences of experiences such as trauma, discrimination, and other forms of violence, and promote social/personal change. We look forward to talking to all community members and organizations of Eastside King County and beyond.
