Carl Behnke

Carl Behnke is President of R.E.B. Enterprises, as well as chairman of the Skinner Corporation and former chairman of Sur La Table. A graduate of both Princeton University and Harvard University, Carl is a renowned businessman in Seattle and was inducted into the Puget Sound Business Hall of Fame in 2017. After building the second largest Pepsi dealership in North America, Carl partnered with his wife Renee to launch Sur la Table, a gourmet culinary store and specialty cookware company that expanded from a single location at Pike Place Market to a nationwide multimillion dollar business.

Carl’s legacy also extends to Seattle mainstays, including being a former minority owner of both the original Seattle Seahawks and the initial incarnation of the Seattle Sounders. He is also a Board director for YoCream International Inc. and The Commerce Bank of Washington, NA.

A noted philanthropist in the Greater Puget Sound region, Carl has a rich background in civic involvement. He is a trustee at: the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, the Pacific Northwest Ballet Association, and the University of Puget Sound. Carl was previously past president of the Rainier Club, and is currently a Board member of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce and Northwest AIDS Foundation.
