Vania Bynum

Vania C. Bynum is a former engineer and arts administrator who has a passion for dance and the arts. She is the founder of VCBynum Arts and Education Movement. A graduate of Cornish College of the Arts, Bynum has danced, taught, choreographed, and produced work throughout the Seattle area. She performed in venues from the renowned stages of the Paramount & Moore Theaters to the intimate space of local churches. Vania has worked as a Computer Engineer at Microsoft, a Project Coordinator for the Hansberry Project at ACT Theater, and a director in dance ministry at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship.

With a desire to utilize her art to serve communities in need, Vania produced a Hurricane Katrina Relief Benefit in 2005, raising $13,000 for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Over the years, she continued to serve through her art. In 2020, Vania reignited the philanthropic spirit and produced Humanity: An Evolving Perspective, which raised over $5,000 for food charities during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Her work has been supported by the City of Seattle smART Ventures, 4Culture, Central District Forum, Bossak Heilbron Foundation, Microsoft, the Allied Arts Foundation, Artist Trust, Jack Straw, Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center, and individual contributors. Vania has lived in Bellevue for many years and is excited to bring communities together on the Eastside.
